The data carrier will now be formatted and prepared for installation. Connect the USB stick or insert the DVD and click “ Begin copying”. Select the medium where you would like to save the file by clicking on “ USB device” or “ DVD". Select the ISO file you downloaded earlier and click on “Next”. Open the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool. You now have everything you need to create an installation/recovery medium for Windows 8. To do this, simply follow the instructions in the installation manager. From the list, select the file “ Windows7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool-Installer-en-GB.exe”, click “Next” and save the file on your computer. 
Select the language “English” and click on “Download”.
Next, you need the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool in order to create a bootable data carrier. Select the right version (32-bit or 64-bit) and download the file.
The website has now created two links, valid for 24 hours, to download your ISO file. Select your language from the pop-up menu and click “Confirm” again. The section “Select the product language” will become visible. 
Scroll down to the section “ Select edition” and select your edition from the pop-up menu. First, ensure that your internet connection is stable and that you have free storage space with at least four gigabytes of capacity available. You can then use this boot medium to reset Windows 8. You need to load this ISO file onto your PC and create a bootable USB stick or a DVD from it. The installation file is an ISO file that functions as a copy of the operating system and contains all files relevant for the installation. To do this you will need the installation file for Windows 8 and the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool that, though its name appears to suggest otherwise, also works for Windows 8. If you don’t have an installation CD for Windows 8, you will have to create your own installation medium.
